Quick hits from week two of college football:
1. Terrible call at the end of BYU-Washington. Shame on you ref. Let the kids play. Hate to see such a sweet game decided by a bunk judgment call on an obscure rule. And Jake Locker is a good kid, too. He had no bad intention in his celebration. C'mon, that was a miraculous drive and score at the end of regulation. Who wouldn't be jacked and celebrate a little with our teammates?
2. Memo to Ohio State: prepare to get waxed at USC next week.
3. East Carolina's front seven are legit. They are as tough up front as anyone in D-1. Great couple of wins for Conference USA. However, the clamoring for East Carolina's move to the Big East will only get louder now.
4. Notre Dame still sucks. Barely beating San Diego State, a school that recently considered getting rid of their program, and a team that lost to a 1-AA opponent the week before, is not something to feel good about. And Charlie Wiess continues his candacy for instant induction into the Overrated Coach's Hall of Fame.
5. UCF got totally jobbed by the Ref's spot on 4th down on their first possession in overtime against USF. That was a first down. Could've been another big win for Conference USA.
6. Tulsa's offense is unstoppable, again. Dave Johnson is filling in nicely for Paul. Although, with the weapons we possess at reciever and RB, I might be able to put up 300 in any given game. But our defense looks no better than last year, which means it sucks, again. We've become a poor man's Texas Tech . . . which is not a bad thing, I guess.
7. West Virginia should just fire Bill Stewart now.
